I’m posting this because some writers get discouraged, but you just have to keep at it. While I don’t have the money or much in the way of resources to push my novels to greater visibility, I think I’m doing pretty well. I took The Usurper out of KDP Select because my sales were actually worse overall, and I had a grand total of 3 borrows, so I didn’t think that program was worth it. Stay tuned for the sequel to New Frontier, plus a short story anthology based on minor characters in the two End Times novels, and a novel about Michael Evans, the man-behind-the-scenes in both End Times novels.

Thanks for helping to keep it in perspective. It is easy to get down when you are starting out. I’ve been happy with my meager numbers for my first novel but I’m not in it for instant gratification either.

You also have to not think that when you start getting a sudden surge of sales that it’ll keep going purely by momentum and then you don’t have to do anything. I did that last year back around March, and didn’t do any promoting for over 4 months. My sales practically stopped, so I’ve kind of had to start over, and try to rebuild that momentum. I’m not in it for instant gratification either, since I don’t write anything mainstream or in a popular genre. Anyway, good luck with your sales and future endeavors.
